Global Association of Pension Services (GAPS) Meets in Guernsey
The semi-annual get together of the Global Association of Pension Services (GAPS) was hosted in Guernsey by The Pensioneer Trustee Company (Guernsey) Limited Thursday, 19th May 2016. As one of the leading International Pension Plan providers, we were very privileged to have been given the opportunity of hosting this event in Guernsey and to meet up with our industry friends during the day’s events.
GAPS has long been providing a way for international pension providers to network more closely and join together to evolve best practice across the industry, something which is particularly important within the framework of IPP’s. This connection between all the different countries in the network allows individual companies who provide various international pensions and other pension products to ensure they offer the most cost-effective and flexible options for their clients and stay at the forefront of innovation. The GAPS network provides consulting, actuarial and admin services with representation in many of the world’s leading financial centres.
There was plenty to discuss on the day, not just International Pension Plans and their future but cross border pensions, executive planning, local provision in different countries and how these can best be adapted to the growth in global nomads and international employees. Delegates attended from the USA and Europe, including Austria, Italy, Ireland, Poland, Wales and UK and was an excellent chance to exchange ideas and develop relationships.
